Cluett Insurance has expanded its personal and commercial insurance business with its recent acquisition of Harper Insurance. This acquisition was finalized on February 24, 2023.

The surge in mergers and acquisitions has disrupted the conventional internal framework of independent insurance agencies. Cluett Insurance, however, has adopted a proactive approach towards growth by pursuing smaller independent brokerages in Atlantic Canada.
“With the ever changing landscape of the independent brokers of Nova Scotia, we have found reliable customer service has become somewhat non existent. Our number one priority with our current cliental and our recent acquisition is to continue to provide excellent service and continue to find ways to improve on that model. We feel this separates us from the national players” says Lee Cluett.
During this transition period, Harper will remain with the business until the absorption of the Mumford Road location into Cluett Insurance’s Commission Street office in Halifax.

It was founded on the principles of good customer service and providing the best coverage for their clients’ needs. Most recently, Cluett Insurance acquired Coles Insurance and Belmont Health and Wealth in 2021. These acquisitions expanded its personal, commercial, and life insurance presence in Atlantic Canada.
