Summer in Nova Scotia

This summer is going to look different from any we have ever had before. Many travel plans have had to be canceled, businesses are not operating as normal, and you cannot spend time with groups or go to concerts.

We want to encourage you to take your vacations in Nova Scotia this summer! Let us help support our own economy and explore our beautiful province this year!

I am a mom of two and I have spent the last several years only vacationing in NS so I want to share with you some lovely places I have discovered.

Let us start in the beautiful island of Cape Breton. In 2019, my family spend 2 weeks camping and touring around Cape Breton. At the Fortress of Louisburg, my husband got to dress up as a soldier and shoot the cannon! There are hiking trails and beaches very close to this part of Cape Breton. Next, we spent some time in the Highlands and toured the Cabot Trail. This year it may be more peaceful since there will not be large numbers of international travelers! The hiking Trails are beautiful, especially the skyline trail.

A few years ago, we explored the South of our province in Yarmouth and Digby area. There are so many things to see. Hiking trails, beaches, our province is Unique and beautiful! The balancing Rock is worth the drive, as is Briar Island!

I have camped at many of the Provincial Parks, and stayed at cottages and BNBs. There are so many hidden gems in our Province.

If you have less time to travel this summer, check out Halifax! We have beautiful parks, our waterfront is lovely, and Public Gardens is worth a few hours of browsing.

The Annapolis Valley is full of farms with U-picks, campgrounds, and even a drive in theatre. You will not be bored here!

Over the summer, we may post some photos of great spots to check out in Nova Scotia. Be sure to follow our Facebook page!
